Talkwheel, a community and analytics platform, raised $1.2 million from Peter Horan, Randy Haykin, Roger Sippl, Young Soong, Payam Zamani, Larry Braitman, Tom Shields, David Jeske, and other angel investors. 

Boxbee, a storage startup that delivers boxes to its customers, raised $2.3 million from Floodgate Capital, Google Ventures, 500 Startups, Techstars, Jason Calacanis, and Ludlow Ventures.

RealtyShares, a crowdfunding platform for real estate, raised $1.9 million led by General Catalyst. 

Online news show The Young Turks Network raised $4 million in seed financing from Roemer, Robinson, Melville & Co.

Personal health assistant Better raised $5 million in funding from Social+Capital Partnership and The Mayo Clinic. 

3D design tool Mixed Dimensions raised under $1 million in seed funding from the Badia Impact Fund, Ecosystem Ventures, and the Alchemist Accelerator.

Enplug, a social media display for businesses, raised a $2.5 million seed round from Larry Keele, Rasoul Oskouy, Bill Gross, Hossein Eslambolchi, David Cohen, Justin Caldbeck, Troy Carter, Howard Marks, DominateFund, zPark Venture, and Amidi Group.

Nervana Systems, a developer of custom hardware for machine learning algorithms, raised $600,000 in seed financing from Ali Partovi, Hadi Partovi, Sam Altman, Geoff Ralston, Scott Banister, Owen Van Natta, Eric Baker, Farzad Khosrowshahi, Dara Khosrowshahi, Allen & Company, Aditya Agrawal. Ruchi Sanghvi, and SV Angels.

Greats, an online-only retailer of sneakers, raised $1.5 million in a seed funding round led by Resolute Ventures, with participation from High Peaks Venture Partners, Mark Gerson, Adrian Wilson, and other unnamed investors.

 

Early stage

HeiaHeia. a corporate social wellness service, raised 1.5 million euros in a round led by Wallstreet Financial Services, with participation from Tekes, The Finnish Funding Agency For Innovation.

Beepi, an online marketplace for buying and selling cars, raised $5 million in a round led by Redpoint Ventures, with participation from OLX founder Fabrice Grinda, Tina Sharkey, Brian Sharples, Rich Boyle, and Silicon Valley Bank. 

Online catering marketplace ezCater raised $4 million  from Jill Preotle, Chris Cuddy, LaunchPad and Breton Capital Management.

Health and fitness app Lifesum raised $6.7 million Series A funding round led by Bauer Media Group and SparkLabs Global Ventures.

Chubbies, a manufacturer and online retailer of men’s shorts, raised a $4 million round led by Chris Burch. Ben Lerer, Blair Lambert, Brian Spaly, Bob Hall, Rothenberg Ventures and IDG Ventures also invested.. 

Storefront, an online marketplace that helps designers and artists find retail space, raised $7.3 million in Series A funding led by Spark Capital with participation from Mohr Davidow Ventures, Great Oaks Venture Capital, 500 Startups, Box Group, SV Angel and Vikram Pandit. 

Real-estate classifieds platform Lamudi raised $7 million from Tengelmann Ventures and other unnamed investors. 

Content management company SpringCM raised $18 million in funding Foundation Capital, Square 1 Bank and Goff Capital.

Data analytics company Beckon raised $8 million in Series A funding from August Capital and Canaan Partners.

Urban transportation app Citymapper raised $10 million in a round led by Balderton Capital with participation from Connect Ventures, Index Ventures and Greylock Partners, as well as a number of angels.

OwnZones Media Network, a content curation platform, raised $5.9 million in Series A financing from unnamed investors. 

Cloud hosting company FireHost raised a $25 million Series E funding round led The Stephens Group.

AgilOne, a cloud-based predictive marketing company, raised a $25 million Series C investment round led by Tenaya Capital with participation from Next World Capital and Four Rivers Group, Sequoia Capital and Mayfield Fund.

Preact, a cloud-based, automatic customer success service, raised $4.6 million in Series A funding led by Trinity Ventures. Atlas Ventures, Karlin Ventures, Bee Partners, and Lion Wells Capital also participated.

 

Late stage

Website publishing and e-commerce platform Squarespace raised $40 million in Series B funding from General Atlantic. 

Marketing automation provider Act-On Software raised $42 million in a round led by Technology Crossover Ventures, with Norwest Venture Partners, Trinity Ventures, US Venture Partners, and Voyager Capital also participating.

Online invitations startup Paperless Post raised a $25 million Series C led by August Capital, with participation from existing investors

International payments engine The Currency Cloud raised $10 million in Series B funding from Atlas Venture, Anthemis Group, Notion Capital, XAnge Private Equity and Silicon Valley Bank. 

Investing platform Betterment raised $32 million in funding from Citi Ventures, Globespan Capital Partners, Northwestern Mutual Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Menlo Ventures and Anthemis Group.

Personalized financial planning program LearnVest raised $28 million in a round led by Northwestern Mutual Capital with Accel Partners participating. 

Cloud-based mobile services platform ItsOn raised $12.5 million in a Series C round of funding led by Tenaya Capital with participation from Andreessen Horowitz.

Avvo, a legal marketplace and directory, raised $37.5 million led by Coatue Management, along with Benchmark Capital, Ignition Partners and DAG Ventures.

Jasper, a cloud-based platform for the Internet of Things, raised $50 million in a round led by Temasek. AllianceBernstein, Sequoia Capital and Benchmark Capital also participated. 

NatureBox, an online service for healthy snack food raised $18 million in a round led by Canaan Partners. General Catalyst and Softbank Capital also participated.

E-commerce beauty brand Julep Beauty raised $30 million from Azure Capital, Madrona Venture Group, Altimeter Capital, Andreessen Horowitz and Maveron.

Medical platform One Medical Group raised $40 million in a round led by Redmile Group, with help from “current institutional investors.”

Peer-to-peer lending platform Lending Club raised $115 million in a debt/equity round from T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., Wellington Management Company, LLP, BlackRock and Sands Capital. 

Work4, a social and mobile recruiting company, raised $7 million in Series B funding led by Serena Capital, along with Matrix Partners.

Community marketplace Airbnb raised a $500 million in new funding in a round led by TPG.
