Whether you want to market yourself, promote a great idea, or post some family updates, you can build a professional-looking website — even if you don't have any coding experience or technical expertise. Just drag and drop your way to your very own site with one of these three easy services.
Weebly allows you to create your site using one of its 100+ templates and then use the easy drag-and-drop builder to customize and flesh it out. Besides the basic framework, it also offers blogging tools and an e-commerce platform (i.e. a setup for selling things), so you can get a professional looking and functioning site up in no time. Another great feature: It's optimized for mobile as well, so whether someone is visiting your site on a desktop, phone, or tablet, it will look great. Even better, they offer free website hosting! Weebly is free, unless you opt for the pro services, which include features like header slideshows, site searching, and expanded website stats starting at $4 per month.
This site similarly offers templates, blogging tools, and an e-commerce platform. While the templates are a bit more limited than Weebly, its strength is in its stylish designs and useful analytics (i.e. knowing how many people visit your site and what they look at). Unlike Weebly, there isn’t a free option, but pricing starts at an affordable $8 per month. For a premium account, you pay double, but there are no limitations on storage, contributor accounts, or pages you make.
Another of my favorite website builders is Wix. It, too, offers simple drag and drop functionality, so with a few swipes you can build out one of the 100+ templates with customized text, photos, layouts and backgrounds. It differs from its competitors by offering free and paid add-on widgets in its app market, where you can add popular apps and services like Google AdSense and Meetup. It also integrates with social media sites easily, so you can incorporate Instagram feeds, comments from Twitter and Facebook, or Google+ features. Similar to Weebly, you can build the site for free, but premium services cost extra ($7+ per month) — like adding an e-commerce platform, certain form generators, or special gallery tools.
